Tasting Note

Concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry with tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate and graphite. Silky, fine-grained tannins, vanilla and spice from oak, with a mineral backbone and a long, elegant finish.


Food Pairing

Grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, beef stews, aged hard cheeses; Korean BBQ (galbi), char siu, hoisin or soy-glazed duck, miso-braised short ribs, spicy Sichuan beef.


Production Method

Hand-harvested grapes from Puente Alto; fermented in temperature-controlled vats and matured ~18 months in French oak barriques (majority new) before blending and bottle ageing.

Almaviva is a 1997 joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro, producing Bordeaux-style single-vineyard blends from Puente Alto focused on precision and ageing potential.
