Tasting Note

Concentrated blackcurrant and blackberry with violet, cedar, graphite and subtle spicy notes; silky texture, polished yet firm tannins and a long mineral-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, ribeye, beef Wellington, venison, aged Comté or Gruyère. Asian: Peking duck, beef bulgogi or galbi, char siu, mushroom/porcini hot pot, soy-glazed short ribs.


Production Method

Traditional Bordeaux vinification with fermented lots (stainless steel and oak vats), élevage approximately 12 months in French oak barrels (significant proportion new oak).

Château Brane-Cantenac, a 1855 Deuxième Cru in Margaux, owned by the Lurton family; estate on gravel soils producing elegant, ageworthy wines.
