Tasting Note

Deep purple. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, mint and eucalyptus with cedar, vanilla and toasted oak. Concentrated, silky texture, firm polished tannins, balanced acidity and a long, mineral-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, beef short ribs, aged Manchego or cheddar; Asian: Korean BBQ, char siu, Sichuan-style beef, teriyaki steak, rich Chinese braises.


Production Method

Hand-harvested selected 'Zapata' rows; 28 days skin maceration; fermented in small lots and aged ~18 months in 100% new French oak barrels.

Produced by Catena Zapata (founded 1902). Sourced from high‑altitude family vineyards including La Pirámide and Adrianna; selected 'Zapata' vines are specially marked and harvested separately.
