Tasting Note
Saturated black-purple; aromas of cassis, black raspberry, violet, espresso, leather and tobacco. Opulent, concentrated palate with dark fruit, chocolate and mineral notes, elegant power and a long, refined finish.
Food Pairing
Grilled steak, roast lamb, aged cheeses (cheddar/Manchego); Korean BBQ (bulgogi), Chinese red-braised beef or char siu, Indian rogan josh or tandoori lamb.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, high-altitude fruit; some Malbec vinified with whole clusters. Fermented traditionally and aged 18 months in 100% new French oak.
Vineyard Info
Flagship wine from Catena Zapata, founded by Nicolás Catena. Sourced from high-altitude lots (La Pirámide, Adrianna, Altamira); the estate pioneered Argentina's high-elevation viticulture.
