Tasting Note
Perfumed cassis, blackberry and Morello cherry with violets, rose oil, graphite, sage and forest-floor notes. Silky, full-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins, bright minerality, layered dark fruit and a long savory-spice finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast ribeye, braised short ribs, leg of lamb, hard cheeses (aged cheddar, Comté). Asian: Korean galbi, Peking duck, beef rendang, spicy Szechuan beef, grilled lamb skewers.
Production Method
Estate-grown, hand-harvested fruit from Sage Mountain; cold soak and extended maceration (20–40 days), fermented in oak and concrete; aged ~22 months in French oak (≈60–63% new) with limited amphora use; largely bottled unfined/unfiltered.
Vineyard Info
Continuum Estate (Tim & Marcia Mondavi) on Pritchard Hill produces a single proprietary Bordeaux-style wine from the Sage Mountain Vineyard focused on low yields, meticulous viticulture and site expression.
