Vinous 94 points (2024 review)

Tasting Note

Elegant, chalky Sancerre with lemon, ripe apple, elderflower and honeysuckle, flinty/sea-shell minerality, subtle lees/pastry complexity, bright acidity and a saline, persistent finish.

Food Pairing

Oysters and other shellfish, langoustine or lobster, goat cheeses (Crottin de Chavignol), grilled white fish, sushi/sashimi, Vietnamese spring rolls, Thai seafood curries, light chicken dishes.

Production Method

Hand-harvested from a 0.6 ha Monts Damnés parcel; fermented with selected yeasts, extended lees contact and part barrel élevage (small casks); aged on lees with time in barrel and tank.

Vineyard Info

Domaine Didier Dagueneau—renowned Pouilly-Fumé master—acquired and planted a parcel in Les Monts Damnés (planted 2002). Produces a rare, meticulously farmed Mont Damné Sancerre under Dagueneau's exacting methods.
