Tasting Note
Perfumed red cherry, kirsch and brambly berry aromas with floral and woodland notes; hints of wild mushroom, spice and vanilla oak. Medium-bodied, with supple yet muscular dusty tannins, bright acidity and a persistent sour-cherry, mineral finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast duck, beef bourguignon, mushroom risotto, lamb and game birds; Asian: Peking duck, char siu (barbecued pork), miso-glazed fish, soy-braised mushrooms or pork.
Production Method
Organic/biodynamic farming; fruit from two parcels picked and vinified separately. ~25% whole-cluster fermentation, cold soak and traditional maceration; aged in French oak (portion new) and blended after élevage.
Vineyard Info
Domaine de la Vougeraie (Boisset family estate created 1999) farms ~30+ ha in the Côte d’Or using organic/biodynamic methods. Winemaker Pierre Vincent oversees Clos de Vougeot parcels and traditional, terroir-driven vinification.
