Awards/Ratings
Major critic scores for the 2022: James Suckling 99, Wine Spectator 98, Decanter 97, Vinous (Neal Martin) 96‑98, Burghound 93‑96; widely cited as an outstanding vintage
Tasting Note
Perfumed red and black cherry, mulberry, violet and rose petal with forest floor, white truffle, spice and mineral notes. Silky texture, fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and a very long, chalky finish.
Food Pairing
Roast duck, grilled lamb, beef tenderloin, mushroom risotto, aged Comté or Gruyère; Asian pairings: Peking duck, beef bulgogi, char siu, miso‑glazed eggplant, shiitake and soy braised dishes.
Production Method
2022 was the domaine's first certified organic vintage; ~80% whole‑cluster fermentation, gravity transfers in temperature‑controlled wooden vats, aged ~19 months in oak barrels (c.20% new). Gentle extraction and strict selection.
Vineyard Info
Historic walled Clos dating to c.1365 (8.84 ha) in Morey‑St‑Denis; almost monopole owned mainly by Domaine des Lambrays. Bought by LVMH in 2014; recent conversion to organic/biodynamic and a new gravity‑fed winery under Jacques Devauges.
