Awards/Ratings
Burghound 91–93 (2021 notes); Wine Advocate ~92–94; Vinous/Neal Martin ~92–94; Jasper Morris 92–95. Widely praised for minerality, precision and aging potential (sources: Burghound, Wine Advocate, Vinous, Jasper Morris)
Tasting Note
Purple-hued Pinot with black and red berries, forest floor, violet and savory spice. Medium–full-bodied, concentrated fruit with powdery tannins, bright acidity, notable minerality and a long, saline finish.
Food Pairing
Roast duck, lamb, beef bourguignon, mushroom risotto; miso-glazed salmon, hoisin/duck breast, pork belly, soy-simmered mushrooms, aged cheeses.
Production Method
Old‑vine fruit, hand-harvested and rigorously sorted; mostly destemmed (stems occasionally reintroduced), punched down manually. Indigenous-yeast fermentation; aged ~16–18 months in ~15–20% new French oak. Minimal intervention, low sulphur, bottled largely unfined/unfiltered.
Vineyard Info
Family domaine based in Gevrey-Chambertin run by Jean‑Marie Fourrier since 1994. ~9–10 ha across top Côte de Nuits sites; focus on old vines, low yields and terroir-driven viticulture producing highly sought-after, ageworthy Burgundies.
