Awards/Ratings

Neal Martin (Vinous) 94–96 (Drinking window 2025–2047). Domaine reviews praise its finesse and ageing potential

Tasting Note

Delicate violet and wild-rose perfume over black cherry, blackberry and raspberry, with truffle, forest-floor and licorice. Silky, refined tannins, bright acidity and an extended, exotic-wood finish.

Food Pairing

Roast duck, beef bourguignon, venison, mushroom risotto; Asian: Peking duck, miso-glazed fish, bulgogi, shiitake and soy-based dishes (umami-rich).

Production Method

Hand-harvested; partial whole-cluster (20–50%) fermentation in small open vats with indigenous yeasts; 16–20 months élevage in 100% new French oak (personalized toasts).

Vineyard Info

Domaine Drouhin‑Laroze owns a tiny 0.12 ha parcel of Musigny (acquired 1986). The domaine works sustainably/biodynamically across its holdings and focuses on low yields to express terroir.
