Awards/Ratings
Selected critics: James Suckling 97; Vinous (Antonio Galloni / Neal Martin) 94–96; Decanter 95; Wine Advocate (The Wine Advocate) 94; Jeb Dunnuck 93–95
Tasting Note
Refined, savory Bordeaux: blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco, graphite and violet notes. Bright acidity, polished powdery tannins and concentrated mid-palate lead to a long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, grilled ribeye, beef bourguignon, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ beef, soy-braised short ribs, spicy Szechuan beef — pairs well with umami-rich and grilled dishes.
Production Method
Hand-harvested. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats with maceration; malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged ~18 months in French oak (≈50% new); ~10% press wine included.
Vineyard Info
Grand Cru Classé (Graves) near Léognan. Owned by the Wilmers family since 1998; ~30 ha planted, Cabernet-dominated terroir of gravelly-sand soils and long-established vines.
