Tasting Note
Deep, concentrated black fruits (blackberry, cassis), truffle, tobacco, wet gravel and spice; velvety, full-bodied texture with ripe grainy tannins, pronounced minerality and an exceptionally long, earthy finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast ribeye, lamb shoulder, beef short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged Comté or Parmesan. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), braised beef rendang, char siu, miso-glazed eggplant.
Production Method
Plot-by-plot fermentation in stainless steel with careful vat selection; aged 18–20 months in oak (≈78% new barrels); final blending assembled from selected cuves.
Vineyard Info
Historic estate founded in the 16th century; owned by the Dillon family since 1935 and today managed under Prince Robert of Luxembourg. Vineyards on gravel soils in Pessac-Leognan produce both red and white first-growth wines.
