Awards/Ratings

Jeb Dunnuck 95; Wine Advocate 95 — widely praised for concentration, freshness and long aging potential

Tasting Note

Concentrated black cherry and blackberry, garrigue and cured‑meat aromas, peppery spice and lavender notes. Full-bodied, rich palate with bright acidity, silky yet firm tannins and a long, saline mineral finish.

Food Pairing

Roast lamb, coq au vin, beef stew, braised short ribs, aged cheeses (Roquefort); Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ, spicy Sichuan beef, lamb skewers.

Production Method

Late-harvest Grenache-dominant fruit fermented in concrete vats (often whole-cluster), aged long in neutral foudres/demi-muids and old oak; low-intervention, low yields, often bottled unfiltered after extended élevage.

Vineyard Info

12th-generation family domaine of Henri Bonneau (6–6.5 ha), famed La Crau holdings; traditional methods, late harvest and tiny production. Henri died 2016; son Marcel now manages the estate.
