Tasting Note
Brooding black and blue fruits (blackberry, cassis), violets, black pepper, sage and licorice with toasty chocolate oak. Silky yet powerful, fine-grained tannins and bright acid lead to a long, savory, mineral finish.

Food Pairing
Western: grilled or roasted lamb, beef, venison, barbecued short ribs, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ, char siu, Peking duck, Sichuan beef or spicy lamb dishes, Malaysian satay.

Production Method
Hand-harvested centenarian, dry‑grown vines; de-stemmed and fermented in small open/concrete fermenters; matured ~18 months in French and American hogsheads (c.27% new); sealed under screw cap.

Henschke is a family estate (since 1868). Mount Edelstone, planted 1912, is a dry‑grown, ungrafted single-vineyard shiraz managed with organic/biodynamic practices and very low yields.
