Tasting Note

Dense dark blackberry, cassis and black cherry with cedar, tobacco, chocolate and dried herbs. Rich, concentrated palate with velvety yet grainy tannins, balanced acidity and a long mocha-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Grilled rib-eye or porterhouse steak, roast lamb, aged cheddar and mushroom risotto; Asian pairings: beef rendang, Korean barbecue, char siu, Peking duck, and braised short ribs with black bean sauce.


Production Method

Wild-fermented with extended post‑fermentation maceration; matured 18–20 months in French oak barriques (≈60–70% new); minimally fined and filtered prior to bottling.

Howard Park (Burch Family Wines) flagship Cabernet. Fruit from Abercrombie Vineyard (Mount Barker) and Leston (Margaret River). Howard Park founded 1986; Abercrombie site purchased 2012 and named for owner Jeff Burch’s great-grandfather.
