Tasting Note
Ripe red and black fruits (blackberry, cherry), orange rind, dried flowers and tea-leaf spice. Medium-bodied, silky texture with fine, melted tannins and brooding spice — powerful with a persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, beef bourguignon, duck confit, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean bulgogi, miso‑glazed pork or braised short ribs.
Production Method
Hand-harvested from old vines; approx. 20% whole-cluster fermentation, aged in oak (up to ~20% new), minimal intervention and bottled unfiltered.
Vineyard Info
Jean‑Marie Fourrier acquired the Vigne Comte de Chapelle holdings in 2022; Fourrier family famed for Gevrey‑Chambertin wines. Sourced from very old vines (plots planted c.1942), small-production cuvée.
