Tasting Note

Concentrated blackberry and plum with dark chocolate, licorice and roasted-meat spice. Silky, fine-grained tannins, savory graphite/mineral edge and a long mocha- and spice-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, grilled beef, braised short ribs, aged Comté or cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ (galbi), Cantonese char siu, Sichuan beef, spicy lamb curry.


Production Method

Hand-harvested Shiraz from low-yield Armagh blocks; small-batch fermentation and ~16 months maturation in French and American oak (approximately 90% new) prior to bottling.

Armagh vineyard planted by Jim Barry in 1968; family-owned Jim Barry Wines in Clare Valley producing tiny yields from sandy-gravel soils on north-west slopes.
