Tasting Note
Dense black and blue fruit (plum, blackberry) with truffle, leather, cocoa, tobacco and garrigue. Silky yet structured, plush ripe tannins and a long, spicy, earthy finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu or Korean barbecue, braised beef short ribs (galbi), shiitake and soy-braised dishes.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; parcel vinified in temperature‑controlled cement vats with gentle pump‑overs; malolactic in barrel; aged 16–18 months in predominantly new French oak (~70–75%; some reports note 100% new for MLF in 2017).
Vineyard Info
22‑ha estate on Pomerol’s gravel/clay soils; owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). Converted to organic practices in late 2010s and certified organic with the 2021 vintage.
