Tasting Note

Opaque purple; candied black fruits, graphite, licorice and underbrush. Full-bodied, sumptuous with rich extract and glycerin-coated tannins; long, mineral-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Roast lamb, beef, venison, mushroom risotto; Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ short ribs, braised beef, soy/umami-rich dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested; whole-berry fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats (≈28 days); malolactic in barrel; aged ~18 months in 100% new French oak; minimal fining/filtering.

Small 4.5 ha estate owned by Stephan von Neipperg; old vines (≈60 yrs); clay-limestone soils; certified organic since 2014. Premier Grand Cru Classé (Saint-Émilion, 2012).
