Tasting Note

Concentrated blackcurrant and plum with graphite, espresso, truffle, and licorice. Velvety, ripe fruit, supple yet structured tannins and a long, mineral, savory finish (truffle/tobacco).


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, beef short ribs, venison, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, braised beef with soy and star anise, shiitake mushroom dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested, sorted; fermented in temperature‑controlled wooden vats with pneumatic pigeage; malolactic fermentation; aged ~18 months in 100% new French oak; minimal fining/filtering.

Owned by the Comtes von Neipperg, tiny 4.5 ha clay‑limestone vineyard; vines ~50–60 years; low yields and small production; promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2012.
