Tasting Note

Reserved yet concentrated: blackcurrant, graphite, cedar, cigar box, tobacco and mineral notes with firm ripe tannins, bright acidity and a long, refined finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, ribeye steak, beef short ribs, game birds, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Cantonese roasted pork (char siu), Korean BBQ (galbi), wagyu beef, mushroom hot pot.


Production Method

Hand-harvested, parcel vinification; fermented in wooden vats, malolactic conversion and aged ~18–20 months in new French oak barrels.

Château Lafite Rothschild, a First Growth in Pauillac owned by the Rothschild family since 1868; produces the grand vin and second wine Carruades. Estate spans gravelly terroirs ideal for Cabernet.
