Awards/Ratings
Selected critic scores and notes: Robert Parker / Wine Advocate — historically cited 100 (1994) and later tastings 98 (Neal Martin tasting at the château); Neal Martin 98; Falstaff 95–97; Wine Spectator ~94. (See detailed reviews/tastings)
Tasting Note
Concentrated Pauillac: blackcurrant, cedar, graphite, tobacco, leather and clove with saline/mineral lift. Silky, filigree tannins, bright acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish — refined and ageworthy.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, beef Wellington, venison, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking/Cantonese roast duck or pork, Korean bulgogi/grilled beef, rich mushroom hotpot (shiitake/truffle).
Production Method
Traditional Bordeaux vinification: hand-harvested, plot-by-plot fermentation in wooden and stainless vats, ~20-day maceration, malolactic fermentation, aged ~18–24 months in French oak (high % new oak historically). Egg‑white fining was used.
