Awards/Ratings
Representative scores: James Suckling 98/100; Vinous (A. Galloni) 98+; Neal Martin/Wine Advocate 95–97 (various write-ups); Decanter 98; Wine Spectator ~97. (Multiple critics praised concentration, balance, and long ageing potential. )
Tasting Note
Concentrated cassis and blackberry layers with graphite, pencil lead, violet, tobacco and saline minerality. Impeccably structured, with very fine-grained, cashmere tannins and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing
Roasted ribeye, lamb chops, beef Wellington, aged hard cheeses; Asian: Peking duck, beef bulgogi, char siu, Sichuan peppercorn beef, Korean BBQ short ribs.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled vats; only ~30% of crop to Grand Vin. Aged ~18–20 months in 100% new French oak; estate began working organically across all vineyards in 2015.
