Tasting Note

Complex mature red: leather, cedar, tobacco, black cherry, plum, dried herbs and Eastern spice. Medium–full body, plush entry, ripe firm tannins, bright acidity and a long, spicy, savory finish.

Roast lamb, braised beef, game and aged cheeses; Middle Eastern mezze and kebabs, beef rendang, Peking duck, Korean BBQ and spicy Sichuan beef.


Production Method

Hand-harvested; fermented in cement vats with extended maceration; aged ~12 months in French Nevers oak; blended after two years; minimal sulfur, typically unfined and unfiltered.


Vineyard Info

Family-run Château Musar, founded 1930 by Gaston Hochar. Vineyards in the Bekaa Valley produce long-lived blends of international and indigenous grapes; noted for organic practices and distinctive, ageworthy wines.
