Tasting Note

Dried cherry, fig and black-fruit core with leather, cedar, tobacco and Eastern spice; savory, herbal and licorice notes, bright acidity and a long, earthy finish.


Food Pairing

Roast lamb, beef stew, duck confit, aged cheeses (Comté, Manchego); Asian: lamb tagine, Korean BBQ, spicy beef rendang, Middle Eastern mezze and grilled kebabs.


Production Method

Fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete/steel, aged ~12–15 months in French oak, blended in year three and released after extended bottle aging (typically ~7 years).

Family-owned Château Musar, founded by Gaston Hochar in 1930 and run by the Hochar family (Serge Hochar); vineyards in the Bekaa Valley produce low-intervention, long-lived wines.
