Tasting Note

Bright red and black fruits (redcurrant, cassis, blackberry) with floral lavender, spice (cinnamon, clove), tobacco and cedar; medium-bodied, silky with finely grained tannins and a long, perfumed finish.


Food Pairing

Roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck confit, mushroom risotto; Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), soy-glazed short ribs, miso aubergine.


Production Method

Strict parcellaire selection (22% of harvest), hand-harvested; fermented in estate vats and aged ~15 months in oak (≈50% new). 2017 practices were organic on many plots.


Vineyard Info

Château Margaux (Premier Grand Cru Classé). Pavillon Rouge is the estate’s second wine (named 1908), revived and expanded after 1977 under André Mentzelopoulos; now run by Corinne Mentzelopoulos.
