Tasting Note
Very pale straw with green hues. Aromas of grapefruit, Meyer lemon, pear, wet stone and toasted hazelnut. Mouth-filling, textural palate with bright citrus acidity, creamy lees, subtle oak and a saline, persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Western: lobster, scallops, roast chicken, creamy pasta, mushroom risotto. Asian: sashimi/sushi, miso-glazed fish, tempura, Thai coconut curry, steamed white-fish with soy and ginger.
Production Method
Whole-bunch pressing, barrel fermentation (wild and cultured yeasts), malolactic fermentation and batonnage; matured eight months in French oak barriques (55% new, 45% one-year).

Penfolds' flagship ultra-fine Chardonnay, created after 144 trial wines and first released (1995 vintage) in 1998. Fruit sourced from cool-climate vineyards across Adelaide Hills, Tasmania and Tumbarumba; name means 'little by little'.
