Tasting Note

Bright citrus and white stone fruits (grapefruit, nectarine) with toasted hazelnut, brioche and fine flinty minerality. Vibrant acidity, mouth-coating texture and a very long, precise finish.

Food Pairing

Western: lobster or scallops with brown-butter sauce, roast herb chicken, creamy pasta (fettuccine Alfredo). Asian: miso‑glazed black cod, yuzu‑cured sashimi or sushi, Cantonese roast duck, delicate Thai green curry.

Production Method

Whole-bunch pressing; barrel fermentation in French oak barriques (≈86% new) for ~8 months, malolactic fermentation with lees contact/yeast stirring. Fruit sourced from cool-climate parcels (Tasmania & Adelaide Hills).

Vineyard Info

Penfolds flagship ultra‑fine Chardonnay, launched from the 1995 trial project (first release 1998). Yattarna sources select cool‑climate vineyards and was named from First Nations language meaning ‘little by little’.
