Tasting Note

Concentrated ruby with ripe red and black berry compote, cedar, menthol, tobacco and spice. Firm, high-acidity palate with robust but integrated tannins and a long, savory finish.

Production Method

Hand-harvest from centennial vines; traditional fermentation in stainless and small lots, aged ~18 months in Portuguese and French oak followed by extended bottle aging.

Tapada do Chaves, family estate in Frangoneiro (Portalegre). 60ha estate with ~32ha vineyards; oldest plots dated to 1901, producing site-specific, artisanal wines.
