Tasting Note

Blackberry and cassis core with licorice, violet, smoked meat and truffle notes. Full-bodied, plush and concentrated with ripe, velvety tannins, bright lift and a long savory, cedar-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled rib‑eye, roast venison, braised short ribs, mushroom Wellington, aged Gouda or blue cheese. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ, soy/ginger braised beef, umami mushroom stir‑fries.


Production Method

Parcel vinification in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, malolactic fermentation in vats; aged 16–24 months in roughly 65–77% new French oak barrels.

Château Troplong Mondot, a Premier Grand Cru Classé on the Mondot hill (33 ha). Long history, modernised cellars, Michel Rolland consulted; owned by SCOR (since ~2017) and focused on sustainable viticulture.
