Tasting Note
Concentrated, mineral-driven dry Riesling with intense citrus (lime, grapefruit), stone fruit (apricot, peach), floral and saline, flinty-iodine notes. Vibrant acidity, fine phenolic grip and a long, laser-like finish with chalky minerality and subtle herbal spice.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled sea bass, roast chicken, pork belly, oyster, creamy goat cheese, mushroom risotto. Asian: sushi/sashimi, spicy Thai green curry, Sichuan prawns, Korean BBQ, Vietnamese spring rolls.
Production Method
Organically and biodynamically farmed Morstein fruit; hand-harvested, gentle pressing, cool fermentations in stainless and neutral oak/large cask, aged on fine lees; bottled dry as a VDP Grosses Gewächs.
Vineyard Info
Weingut Wittmann, Westhofen estate (family since 1663). Converted to organic in 1990 and biodynamic from the early 2000s under Philipp Wittmann; notable for limestone Morstein sites.
