Tasting Note: Deep, concentrated black fruits (blackberry, cassis), truffle, tobacco, wet gravel and spice; velvety, full-bodied texture with ripe grainy tannins, pronounced minerality and an exceptionally long, earthy finish.
Food Pairing: Western: roast ribeye, lamb shoulder, beef short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged Comté or Parmesan. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), braised beef rendang, char siu, miso-glazed eggplant.
Vineyard Info: Historic estate founded in the 16th century; owned by the Dillon family since 1935 and today managed under Prince Robert of Luxembourg. Vineyards on gravel soils in Pessac-Leognan produce both red and white first-growth wines.
