Awards/Ratings
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 95+ (2013); Wine Spectator 91; Wine Enthusiast 94; Wilfred Wong 98; James Suckling 97. Contemporary reviews praise its concentration, ageability and firm tannic structure
Tasting Note
Concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry with violet and menthol lift; mocha, cedar and toasted oak notes. Full-bodied, muscular yet polished, with plush 'Rutherford dust' tannins and a long, savory finish.
Food Pairing
Grilled ribeye or côte de boeuf, braised short ribs, lamb chops, aged cheddar and mushroom ragout; Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), Cantonese roast pork/char siu, spicy Sichuan beef or hoisin-glazed dishes.
Production Method
Hand‑harvested fruit, fermented to retain concentrated fruit, then aged ~22 months in French oak (largely new) to integrate oak spice and tannin.
