Tasting Note
Concentrated black-currant and blackberry with cassis, cedar, baking spice, mocha and dried herb. Dense, full-bodied, polished tannins and a long, savory finish with dark chocolate and mineral undertones.

Production Method
Hand-harvested Heart of the Hill fruit; small‑lot fermentations (some concrete use reported); aged in French oak (significant new oak) for ~18–22 months. Bottled after élevage to allow integration.

Betz Family Winery, founded by Bob and Cathy Betz (Bob Betz, MW) in 1997, sources fruit from Heart of the Hill on Red Mountain. Known for site-driven Bordeaux-style reds; winery has changed ownership but retains Betz winemaking involvement.
