Tasting Note
Medium-bodied Pauillac showing blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, tobacco and forest-floor notes; silky texture, refined tannins, vibrant acidity and a long mineral-tinged finish.

Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, braised beef, filet mignon, game (venison), mature cheeses (Comté, blue). Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (galbi), beef rendang, shiitake mushroom hot pot.

Production Method
Traditional Bordeaux vinification with plot-based fermentations; matured ~18–20 months in oak (≈10% new for this vintage); final assemblage selects declassified Lafite fruit for the second wine.

Produced by Château Lafite Rothschild (Domaines Barons de Rothschild). Carruades de Lafite is the estate’s second wine, named after the Carruades plateau; crafted from younger/declassified plots to reflect Lafite character with earlier approachability.
