Tasting Note: Concentrated garnet red; aromas of violet, cherry, plum, licorice, cocoa, leather and tobacco. Powerful yet refined with polished, muscular tannins, red-fruit core, spice and mineral lift; long, velvety finish.
Food Pairing: Western: braised beef, roast lamb, game, truffle pasta, tajarin, aged Piedmont cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, mushroom hot pot, miso-glazed eggplant.
Vineyard Info: Cantine Damilano, family-run since the late 1800s; now fourth-generation management. Riserva '1752' is from a ~2-hectare parcel in the central Cannubi cru, produced in very limited quantities.
