Tasting Note
Ripe black cherry, plum and dark berry core with raspberry and blackcurrant; secondary notes of truffle, sous-bois, leather, anise and spice. Silky yet structured tannins and a long, savory, slightly oaky finish.

Food Pairing
Western: roast ribeye, beef bourguignon, venison, mushroom risotto, truffle risotto; Asian: Peking duck, char siu, braised short ribs (Korean-style), shiitake mushroom stir-fry, Cantonese red-cooked beef.

Production Method
Hand-harvested; fully destemmed in 2019; indigenous-yeast fermentations in small open vats with 2–3 week maceration; aged 16–20 months in French oak (≈80% new).

Drouhin-Laroze, family domaine founded in 1850; 11.5 ha in Côte de Nuits. Owns ~1 ha in Clos de Vougeot (Plante l'Abbé/Quartier de Marei Haut). Run by siblings Nicolas and Caroline Drouhin.
