Tasting Note

Shows ripe blackcurrant, dark plum, rosemary, bay and tobacco with graphite and truffle notes. Earthy cedar and dark chocolate underpin firm, still-grippy tannins; full-bodied with a savory, loamy finish and decades-long aging potential.

Roast beef, lamb, venison, duck, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses; Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu, braised beef noodles, grilled wagyu, rich Sichuan beef dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested; micro-vinified plot-by-plot with traditional fermentation and extended maceration. Aged ~15–18 months in new French oak barrels (high new-oak percentage) with modern cellar management.

Family-owned Château Figeac (Manoncourt family). 54ha estate on Gunzian gravel soils; Cabernet-led plantings set it apart in Saint-Émilion. Long history, focused on quality and sustainable practices.
