Tasting Note
Concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry and Morello cherry with tobacco, cedar, smoke, wet stone and violet. Silky yet firm tannins, vibrant acidity, dense mineral-laced fruit and superb, lingering finish—classic, ageworthy Haut-Brion.
Food Pairing
Roast lamb, beef Wellington, duck confit, mushroom risotto; Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ beef, Sichuan beef stir-fry; aged hard cheeses.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel/concrete vats with extended maceration; aged ~16–20 months in French oak (significant proportion new) before bottling.

Owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon; Premier Grand Cru Classé (1855) from a ~51 ha estate (≈48 ha red). Long family-managed history (Delmas), small production and renowned for cellaring.
