Tasting Note
Deep crimson with violet hues. Raspberry, Satsuma plum, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry layered with violet, black pepper, nutmeg, anise and garrigue herbs. Bright acidity, plush texture and powerful fine-grained tannins carrying a long, spicy finish.

Food Pairing
Roast lamb, braised beef short ribs, confit duck, aged cheddar; Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, Sichuan-style beef, miso-glazed eggplant.

Production Method
Hand-harvested Shiraz; destemmed and lightly crushed into small open-top concrete fermenters with submerged-cap/pump-over extraction. Pressed to hogsheads and matured 18 months in 82% French / 18% American oak (10% new, 90% seasoned).

Henschke, family winery founded 1868. Wheelwright vineyard (planted 1968 by Cyril Henschke) is ~1.6 ha at 470m in Eden Valley, managed with organic/biodynamic practices.
