Tasting Note

Deep purple, powerful Syrah with black and blue fruit, cracked black pepper, resinous and balsamic notes; dense, structured palate with fine, persistent tannins and a long spicy finish.

Food Pairing

Western: grilled/roasted red meats, lamb, venison, beef stew, aged and blue cheeses. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), Sichuan-style beef, Peking duck, char siu pork, rich teriyaki or miso-glazed beef dishes.

Production Method

Hand-harvested Syrah; cold-soaked, fermented in small oak vats (≈30–40 days), matured ~24 months in oak barrels (mix of new/used), finished and bottle-aged before release.

Produced by Il Borro (Ferragamo family estate, owned since 1993). Small, low-yield high-altitude vineyard on gravelly soils; limited magnum releases; estate converted to organic viticulture practices.
