Tasting Note

Opulent black and blue fruits (blackberry, plum), liquorice and dark chocolate with spicy oak, graphite and violet notes. Full-bodied, mouth-filling palate with ripe, fine-grained tannins, fresh mineral lift and a long, spicy, savory finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, charcuterie, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi, galbi), Sichuan-style beef, Malaysian beef rendang, char siu, spicy lamb curry, rich noodle dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested from the single-vineyard Armagh block; submerged-cap fermentation at ~18–22°C with extended maceration; matured 14–20 months in 300L hogsheads (predominantly French oak, some American), bottled under screwcap.

Flagship single-vineyard Shiraz planted by Jim Barry in 1968 (c.3.3 ha) in Armagh, Clare Valley. Small yields from old vines; The Armagh is Langton's 'Exceptional' classified and Jim Barry's premier age-worthy wine.
