Tasting Note

Dense blackberry, black cherry and plum with violets, cracked pepper, smoked meats, licorice and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with firm, chalky tannins, bright spine of acidity and a long spicy, mineral finish.


Food Pairing

Grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised beef short ribs, aged hard cheeses; Asian: Korean BBQ (galbi), char siu, Szechuan beef, Thai massaman curry, beef rendang.


Production Method

Traditional destemmed fermentation; matured ~18–20 months in French oak barrels (recent vintages in 100% French oak); bottled unfiltered and unfined.

Single‑vineyard Armagh planted by Jim Barry in 1968. Low‑yield, old‑vine site in Clare Valley producing the estate's flagship Shiraz with strong track record and Langton's Exceptional status.
