Tasting Note
Perfumed violet and rose petals over blackberry, plum preserves, black truffle, cocoa and spice. Silky, concentrated and layered with ripe powdery tannins, mineral lift and an exceptionally long, refined finish.
Food Pairing
Roast or braised red meats (beef, lamb), duck confit, venison; Western mushroom risotto. Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu or Korean BBQ, beef sukiyaki, umami mushroom hotpot.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled vats, malolactic conversion; aged ~18 months in French oak (≈70–80% new).
Vineyard Info
Small family estate (≈4.5 ha) in Pomerol; modernized by Denis Durantou from 1983. Now run by his daughters with longtime cellar team continuing practices focused on quality.
