Tasting Note
Deep black-fruit core of cassis, blackberry and morello cherry with graphite, cedar, menthol and spice. Full-bodied, concentrated, firm ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long, saline mineral finish. Built for long ageing.

Food Pairing
Western: roast ribeye, leg of lamb, duck confit, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), Sichuan braised beef, Cantonese roasted goose.

Production Method
Hand-harvested; fermentation in vats with ~20-day maceration; malolactic partly in vats and barrels; aged 18 months in French oak (≈75% new).

Owned by the Cazes family since 1939; ~90 ha on deep Garonne gravel in Pauillac. Classified Fifth Growth (1855); estate known for powerful, ageworthy Bordeaux blends.
