Tasting Note
Concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with cedar, dark chocolate, licorice and graphite. Powerful, dense palate with firm grainy tannins, fresh core and long earthy, mineral finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast ribeye, leg of lamb, beef short ribs, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu (Cantonese roast pork), Korean BBQ (galbi), soy-braised beef short ribs.
Production Method
Traditional fermentation (avg. 21 days) with malolactic (1/3 in vats, 2/3 in barrels). Aged 18 months in French oak (≈75% new).
Vineyard Info
Château Lynch-Bages, a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé (1855), is family-owned by the Cazes family since the 1930s; estate ~100 ha on Pauillac gravel soils, producing flagship Bordeaux blends.
