Tasting Note

Perfumed red and dark cherry, plum, spice and jasmine-tea notes with a mineral, slightly saline thread. Medium-bodied, silky texture, fine powdery tannins and a lively, persistent finish.

Food Pairing

Roast duck, duck confit, roast lamb, mushroom risotto, coq au vin (Western); Peking duck, char siu, miso-glazed salmon, soy-mushroom soba (Asian).

Production Method

Hand-harvested, sorted, mostly destemmed; controlled-temperature fermentation with gentle pigeage; maceration ~2-3 weeks; élevage 12-18 months in French oak (substantial percentage new oak for villages); bottled by gravity, minimal/no filtration.

Vineyard Info

Domaine Méo-Camuzet is a historic Vosne-Romanée domaine (many parcels once farmed by Henri Jayer). Owned and run by the Méo family with careful, low-intervention viticulture and small-lot vinifications. Well-known for top Vosne crus and refined village wines.
