Tasting Note

Deep purple; cassis, blackberry, graphite, tobacco, cedar and sweet spice. Firm ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long, mineral finish.

Roast lamb, prime rib, game (venison), mature hard cheeses (Comté, Parmesan); Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), rich miso-glazed tuna, mushroom-based Chinese dishes.


Production Method

Traditional vinification with 26–28 day maceration; fermentation in stainless vats; aged ~18–19 months in French oak barrels (≈50–60% new).

Château Montrose, Deuxième Cru Classé (1855), ~95 ha in Saint-Estèphe. Owned by the Bouygues family since 2006; renowned for gravel-over-clay terroir and structured, age-worthy Cab-dominant wines.
