Tasting Note
Dark, concentrated; aromas of blackberry, cassis, baked plum, leather and Spanish cedar. Palate offers black cherries, fig, Mexican chocolate, vanilla bean and spice, framed by firm, grainy tannins and a long, energetic finish.

Food Pairing
Grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised beef short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged cheddar; Korean barbecue (galbi), Chinese red-braised pork (hong shao rou), Peking duck, miso-glazed eggplant.

Production Method
Hand-harvested and hand-sorted fruit; cold maceration, primary fermentation, gentle basket press; matured ~22 months in 100% new French oak; final bottle is a blended assemblage of separately vinified lots.

Founded in 1986 by Jayson Pahlmeyer; known for powerful, Bordeaux-style Napa blends. 2017 Proprietary Red sources include Waters Ranch, Rancho Chimiles and Stagecoach. Pahlmeyer was acquired by E. & J. Gallo in 2019.
