Tasting Note

Pale straw; aromas of Anjou pear, white peach, baking spices and ginger. Rich, layered palate with baked apple, brioche and citrus, bright acidity and a lingering mineral-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast chicken, lobster with brown butter, creamy mushroom risotto, grilled pork belly. Asian: miso‑glazed black cod, tempura shrimp, sushi (rich tuna), mildly spiced Thai coconut curry.


Production Method

Whole-cluster pressed cold; barrel-fermented (French oak) with indigenous yeasts; spontaneous malolactic; aged 15 months on lees with biweekly bâtonnage; 65% new French oak; unfined and unfiltered.

From Paul Hobbs’ Edward James Estate (named for his great‑grandfather), planted to heritage Wente/Bato selections; Paul Hobbs founded the eponymous winery in 1991 and produces single‑vineyard bottlings from Russian River.
